REPERTOIRE of age groups I to IV

One composition from the works of Béla Bartók and one of the Viennese Classics (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert) are required. The playing time of these two pieces should correspond to approximately half of the total prescribed audition time. This can also be several compositions and single movements.

Further repertoire pieces from the periods including Baroque, Romanticism, Impressionism etc. can be chosen by the participant.

Selected compositions by Styrian Composers can also be played voluntarily within the allowed time. The works of the Styrian Composers for each age group can be downloaded here.
Individual movements can also be selected.
The whole program must be performed from memory.

REPERTOIRE of age groups V and VI


Preliminary round:
In the preliminary round it is compulsory to perform a single movement of the Viennese Classic (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert) and a composition by Bela Bartok (a single movement is also possible). If there is still time left in age group VI, a work of free choice can be performed additionally.

Final:
The program of the final has to include one work by Béla Bartók, which was not played in the preliminary round.
Further repertoire pieces from the periods Classic, Baroque, Romantic, Impressionism etc. can be chosen by the participant.
In the final, selected compositions by Styrian Composers can also be played voluntarily within the planned time frame. The works for each age group can be downloaded here.
Single movements can also be chosen.



Scoring


The evaluation is made separately for 6 age groups.

Playing time of the six age groups:


Age group I: 10 minutes (in one round)

Age group II: 12 minutes (in one round)

Age group III: 16 minutes (in one round)

Age group IV: 20 minutes (in one round)

Age group V: preliminary round: 12 minutes, final: 20 minutes

Age group VI: preliminary round: 15 minutes, final: 30 minutes
